I figured every Monday I would do a little update of what I have read for the past week. this year my goal is to read one book a week and one graphic novel every 2 weeks. It hasn’t been going well since I have been busy with work and other things so I figured a little blurb about what I have read might help motivate me to read more. There might be some minor spoilers but I will leave out the major ones.

This week I read very little. Work has been crazy but that is a shitty excuse. I shall do better. I might finish a few books this week and maybe a couple graphic novels. I plan on doing /r/Fantasy’s Bingo on Reddit that goes from April 1, 2017 to April 1, 2018.t looks interesting and very tough at the same but I am extremely excited for it. Take a look:

I have about half of it planned out. Now on to what I am currently reading

The Return of the King (The Lord of the Rings #3) by J.R.R. Tolkien

I talked about this one last week. I didn’t make much progress last week and I didn’t make any progress this week. Dammit Turk!!!!

Sam and Frodo are still on the plains of Gorgoroth.

The Last Kingdom (The Saxon Stories #1) by Bernard Cornwell

I talked about starting The Last Kingdom last week. I am about halfway through it and it is fantastic. I like the show a lot but this is easily better. Bernard has such a talent in his description of the events and the world around them. This is especially the case when it comes to the battle and fighting scenes. Not many authors out there have the ability to make you feel like you are in the middle of the battle like he does.’

Currently in the book Uhtred is only 13 years old but is learning the ways of the Danes. He considers Ragnar to be essentially his father but still at times you get the sense he wants to be on the other side of the war. I know what happens but you can see that Cornwell is building up to something huge.
